At Tamarisk, our volunteers are at the heart of our mission. Each person who joins us brings compassion, presence, and a desire to walk alongside individuals and families facing life-limiting illness. We’re honored to introduce some of the newest members of our volunteer community and share what inspires them to serve.
“I’m new to this part of the Twin Cities, and my husband Jeff and I previously volunteered with hospice in Lakeville — a role we both loved. I’m drawn to Tamarisk’s mission and feel especially called to support individuals facing dementia, as it has touched my own family. My current companion is on hospice, and I feel honored to support those who are nearing the end of life.”
“Through volunteering, I’ve learned that I often receive as much — if not more — than I give. It’s incredibly rewarding to connect with someone and simply spend time together.”
“I recently retired after more than 25 years as a hospice RN and was familiar with Tamarisk through my professional work. I’m inspired to volunteer because I know that one day I may need the same kind of presence and care Tamarisk provides. Giving back in this way feels both meaningful and natural.”
